The breaded Salmon Fishcake from Young’s Foodservice has been specifically created for the education market. Made with Atlantic salmon, potato and coated in an irresistibly light and golden breadcrumb, the salmon fishcake contains no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and takes just minutes to oven bake, grill, deep fry or shallow fry straight from frozen.

Made from farmed Atlantic salmon, which is a fantastic source of omega-3 fatty acids, the fishcakes are a nutritious solution and developed to meet school food standard guidelines. With caterers required to serve oily fish once every three weeks on school menus, the fishcakes are the ideal seafood solution for children, whilst being quick and easy to prepare.

Adrian Greaves, Foodservice Director at Young’s Foodservice says:

“It can be challenging to include oily fish that children enjoy on school menus, which is why we are always developing products to help caterers combat this. Our salmon fishcakes are a familiar format for children and aren’t too overpowering due to the delicious combination of potato and the light crisp crumb. We are confident that they provide the perfect balance of flavour and that even the pickiest of eaters will love them.”

The salmon fishcakes are another versatile addition to the Young’s Foodservice education portfolio. They can be served with a number of tasty accompaniments to suit all menus, such as baked beans or mushy peas or even as a burger.

All of Young’s farmed Atlantic salmon is 3rd party certified by recognised seafood certification schemes, such as the Global Sustainable Seafood Imitative (GSSI), whilst Young’s Marine Biologist, Cameron Moffat, is part of the Global G.A.P Aquaculture Technical Advisory Committee.

Available in cases of 60 × 50g individually frozen pieces, the salmon fishcakes make menu planning easier and minimise waste.
